What is TopTurtle.com
TopTurtle.com is an online directory that lists only the top real estate and home related service businesses in a geographic area.
Why the name TopTurtle?
The original concept for a business name was TopDog, with the word TOP describing the top businesses in an area. But "top dog" seemed overused, just didn't sound that great, and besides, the website domain was taken! So we wondered what animal would create a catchy name, but also represent the real estate and home services industry. Then we realized that a turtle actually carries it's house on its back! So we settled on TopTurtle because it's catchy, everyone loves a turtle, and no one forgets the name once they've heard it!
How does TopTurtle.com help consumers?
TopTurtle.com gives consumers who need real estate or home related services a place to find a short list of businesses that can help them, which is superior to trying to look through outdated yellow pages or scouring endless and confusing search engine results.
How is TopTurtle.com different from other online directories?
1. TopTurtle.com selects quality
businesses in each geographic area and includes them as part of a limited
directory, making it easier for consumers to choose a quality business that can help them. We do this because traditional directories are frustating to consumers because they are usually endless and sometimes innacurate lists of business with only contact information and links to a website. Many of the so called directories are clever lead generating systems and don't give consumers what they want, a reputable and reliable business to contact in their area.
2. Each business listing on TopTurtle.com has a video or picture introduction that allows potential customers to'meet' the company before choosing to do business with it.
3. TopTurtle.com does not utilize a customer rating system because they can be manipulated and are frequently innacurate. Instead, TopTurtle.com uses geographic and reputation based information to choose the businesses that are listed.
The company and it's purpose
TopTurtle.com was a business concept generated by John Glenzer and Randy Houseman based on their own frustrating experiences with online directories and search engines. Using John's experience in the television industry, and Randy's experience in the real estate and golf industries, their goal was, and still is twofold:
1. To create a less confusing and frustraing way for consumers to find quality businesses in the real estate and home services industries.
2. To give quality businesses in the real estate and home services industry a way to reach consumers online, powered not by organic or pay-per-click strategies, but by co-op marketing methods that utilize traditional advertising mediums with a heavy emphasis on local television broadcast advertising.
